Sing... We are the champions, my friend. And we'll keep on fighting to the end.

Heading up the pub with Darren, if any of you mums want to get rid of your husbands, send em over that is where we are!

My Risa Solid Concert Electric Ukuele & Roland Micro Cube Amp (with Coke can for scale) http://twitpic.com/vnka8

Monday, December 28, 2009

Alone, wife is at the Cinema with friends. Baby sobbed for about an hour, only stopping to look at the door whenever I mentioned "Mummy".
Got a Roland Micro Cube for the uke, from my local music shop. Got it for 20 pct off + a free 20 quid boss tuner! Great amp, love it!
Might snow tomorrow! All the intelligent parents have bought up all the sledges, damn them and their forward thinking!

Sunday, December 27, 2009

I am a bit concerned that my Risa solid electric uke is just amplifying my ineptitude.

Saturday, December 26, 2009

Spent time rebuilding an RC helicopter from the ground up, literally, it's nothing but an engine and rotors, will it fly? watch this space!
Bad night. Kept up until 3:15am with son2 calling for us, then up at 6am for the baby. Almost 3 hours sleep is not enough.

Friday, December 25, 2009

Merry Christmas to all! Having a great time. Lots of lovely ukulele based gift, so I am happy. Kids are over the moon with all their toys.
Nothing made me feel more dad-like, putting out mince pie & ginger wine for Santa - then consuming them :)

Ooooh... Steam are doing a free Team Fortress 2 weekend, who needs reality.
Finally landed back in the UK.
Middle class stress: that bloke on a plane who shouts "I'm on a plane, no, i am actually on a plane.... yeah right now". Grrr
One endearing yet slightly annoying British trait is how cheerful we all are in a crisis. Bulldog spirit? Or maybe we are all sociapaths?
Snow is great fun when it isn't grounding your flight home. Stuck in Belgium, airport closed, bored stiff.
Watching xray monitor, my laptop case showed a GUN in it! The operator clicked a button and it disappeared, seems it was an operator test!
Strangest gift pack I have ever seen, here at Brussels airport: Salts of the world - a collection of 10 jars of salt from various places!
Note to self, when visiting Brussels in blizzard conditions, remember your coat.
Very heavy snow forcast today, about to get on a plane for Brussels, worried I might get stranded.
No snow this morning so off to Belgium I go. Maybe my wife's elusive present exists in Brussels? Doubt I will have time to look.

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

it's stopped snowing :(
IT'S REALLY REALLY SNOWING!... and I have a flight tomorrow... poop.
IT'S SNOWING!

Day off again, gift hunting again. One of those days where everyone is walking into me, probably a state of mind.
Weird few days, unpredicted hostility from family members has knocked sideways. Back to Belgium for an urgent meeting at the end of the week

Sunday, December 13, 2009

Better do something... wasting the day AGAIN!
Simon Cowell is running the "Rage Against the Machine" campaign, he owns the rights to the song, public knowledge. Don't be manipulated.
Having a cup of tea and a biscuit. Watching my wife wash cement out of a bucket in the rain having just tiled the kitchen floor. Equality.

Watching Mr McDonut at the office children's Christmas party.
I bought Penny some chocolate this evening and she declined it. Do you think she is Ok?!

Friday, December 11, 2009

Still looking for that holy grail, a present for my wife. Losing will to live.
Day off today, spending the day in town walking around aimlessly, trying to find a gift for a person who wants nothing.

Thursday, December 10, 2009

My solution to the Christmas light vandal, many many more lights. You can now see my house from space. Take that!

Christmas miracle last night, staggered back from pub, stereotypically merry. Hadnt had dinner. 11 30pm, my wife cooks me a cheese burger!

Thursday, December 03, 2009

Crystal clear skies on decent over London. I could see every sight in a glance. Kept wishing my Wife and Dad could see it, they love flying
Is. It wrong to text from a plane?
Peeing down in Belgium. Lunch "World famous British fish and chips" of course the chips were nice, not sure what species the brown fish was!
Non functioning online check-in, delayed flight, extremely rude flight attendant. Last time I fly BMI.
Landed Brussels.
Sitting on a tiny little emb135 jet. I like travelling on small aircraft, last time I was on one of these was Phoenix to LA.
There is something spine-tingling about driving past a cold dark woodland at 5am and seeing a distant flickering torchlight between trees.

Wednesday, December 02, 2009

Off to Belgium tomorrow morning, back home in the afternoon, barely enough time to get homesick this time :D

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

Wife has put up the Christmas tree and decorated it with the "help" of the boys. Looks like a festive tinsel bomb has exploded near it.

Saturday, November 28, 2009

Exhausted today, thank goodness for shopping centre soft play areas. Almost fell asleep twice, watching the boys play.
When i'm bored in book shops. I like to move the Children's bibles into the Fairy Tale section, which, joking aside, is where they belong.
Finley the fire engine tackling the tricky subject of death this morning on cbeebies. Son1 worried about mortality now, mine - as I am old.
Just watched Inglorious Basterds, I thought it would be terrible, but it was a brilliant spaghetti western styled nazi killing romp.

I just found out that Kim (aka Kim of http://ping.fm/onFQf) made left4dead cupcakes for the left 4 dead launch party! How cool!
On the subject of Quantum Physics, I tell you what annoys me. Animal rights people complaining about animal abuse in reference to Schrodinger's cat. Firstly it is a theoretical paradoxical thought experiment that neatly demonstrates the idea of quantum superpositions. More importantly, don't they realise that by opening the box to rescue the animal they are observing it's state which will collapse it's quantum wave function, so they are directly responsible for killing the cat (50% of the time). Assuming the experiment wasn't tainted by objective collapse theory, i.e. the cat observed itself. Anyway, not worth the risk. Leave the cat to hover in it's superposition. I can imagine my wife rolling her eyes when she reads this, but it had to be said.

Finally getting off the plane :)
Air Malta have very good in-flight meals. The Knee-jerker is now frantically rubbing his iPhone. I hope it is a game & not gadget adoration.
Nobody in front of me woohoo, although the guy next to me has that weird sexual tension knee shaking thing going on.
Air Malta, a staggering 8" between my seat and the seat in front, seriously. Least leg-room ever. If his seat goes back I will be crippled
Everything was going well with this Malta trip. But now my flight is delayed thanks to ATC probs & the UK is looking v stormy. Bouncy ride!
I think the saying "you could get hit by a bus tomorrow" originated from Malta. It should have.
Customer meeting shortly. Woke up with massive spot on my nose. I look like Rudolph :(

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Eating alone in a restaurant, head waiter has placed me in the most conspicuous spot imaginable, why do they do that?
I am pretty sure the guy who designed the roads in Malta also designed rollercoasters, fatal rollercoasters.
Arrived Malta. It's hot.
Sitting on a hot plane waiting to depart to Malta. Feeling down today. Can't put my finger on it. Brought camera to log my activity for OH.

Wankiest marketing statement seen on a billboard today - "set your watch to 'me' time". Idiots.

District 9 Plot Holes: 8) Remote control tractor beam, what, did they just FORGET they had that? Sorry - there are more but I will stop now
Not seen District 9? Don't read any of my previous updates, it might spoil the "plot". Also don't watch the trailer, the whole plot is there
District 9 Plot Holes: 7) So, Human's can understand the aliens but can't speak alien & all aliens can understand English but can't speak it
District 9 Plot Holes: 6) I'm sorry, where is the main alien going at the end?
District 9 Plot Holes: 5) So, Humans make aliens sign legal eviction papers but shoot them for not standing still. Seems disjointed.
District 9 Plot Holes: 4) Why is super powerful alien rocket fuel inexplicably lying around in rubbish dumps?
District 9 Plot Holes: 3) Why didn't they have fuel to get back?
District 9 Plot Holes: 2) Why did they come?
District 9 Plot Holes: 1) If the aliens had all these super powerful weapons are a oppressed by humans, why didn't they use them?

Neighbours still hate us it seems. More complaints over the fence this evening about children playing in the garden at 6pm "on a week night"
Hazy turned to cloudy then back to bright sunshine, heading home now, nice to see the sea once in a while.
Off work today. Enjoying the hazy sunshine in Littlehampton with the family.

Can't wait to see Dad next week, he's flying up to visit. 5hrs by car, 6.5hrs by train or 1 hour of exhilarating flying. No contest.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Driving home, the new car started asking me questions & responding to my bemused answers! Seems dealer didn't know it had voice recognition!

Monday, August 17, 2009

I am all giddy with anticipation. Like a kid on Christmas eve. I WANT MY CAR NOW!
My brain said Diesel but my heart said Petrol. Just bought a S-Max 2.5T Titanium, collecting tomorrow. It's sooooo fast!
Registering Son3 in 15 minutes

Another fruitless morning searching for the perfect car, which I am beginning to think doesn't exist.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Feeling really happy for my sister-in-law who had her second son yesterday. Can't wait to meet him.

"Free" NightVision Goggles with COD MW2. I sincerely hope they make the high-pitched escalating "peeeeeeee" noise when you turn them on.
Back at work, catching up with a monstrous backlog. Not much time for updates at the moment.... Apart from this one.

Been picking blackberries with the boys. Soon we will make blackberry crumble. This is why I gain weight in the Summer.

Friday, July 31, 2009

Met a lady, few sticks short of a bundle. Sitting on top of a climbing frame to stop kids falling. Sign that Holden is a good middle name?
Didn't think this through. Sent my two boys into a maze together. They ran in different directions, havent seen them for a while.
At farm park with son1 & son2. Watching them play together in the soft play area. Good team work going on. Son1 is a great older brother.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Cycling down the canal path with son2. Inevitably confronted by angry staffordshire bull terrier & owner saying "He's just being friendly"

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Son2 spent the day with grandparents, auntie & cousin. He is only 2.5. I really missed him. Felt weird not having him around.

Sunday, July 26, 2009

Walking around Woking today. Where the aliens landed! Telling son1 all about "war of the worlds" he is really interested. OH at home with s3

Genuinely touched by the flow of kind wishes & cards & gifts from our friends & family. Even got flowers from the office. Thanks guys x
Son1 confidently informed me that he thought he had "Twine Flu" earlier as he had a sore neck. Cute. I told him not to worry about it.
Can't wait to get this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMSS12iY1X0

At the Guildford Steam Railway open day with the boys. Penny resting. Lovely sunny day.

Friday, July 17, 2009

Blimey Margeret Thatcher invented Mr Whippy ice cream! Sorry - I am trying to think of something other than labour pain.
OH thinks she might finally be going into labour. Doesn't want to go to hospital yet, but crumbs, it might be happening! (Good guess Darren)

Thursday, July 16, 2009

I am going to regret this. For a limited time only, here's a song I recorded for my Wife to cheer her up http://budurl.com/tybtm
STILL WAITING FOR BABY 3 TO ARRIVE. Talk about fashionably late. At least I've completed all my work & much more. I am ready now! Let's go!

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Wondering is D&G had a great time at Guilfest. They haven't surfaced on any social network sites, I sense a hangover ;)

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Got my TM300 camcorder from camerabox, it's very good/confusing. In town today with just the boys. Looking for gifts "from the baby" ;)
One of life's minor cruelties, people are always interested in the arrival of the baby when it is the mother that really needs the support.

Friday, July 10, 2009

Waiting for camcorder & baby to arrive via postman & stork respectively. Hopefully in that order as the baby was justification for purchase.

Wednesday, July 08, 2009

OH is back from the hospital. Son3 is fine in there. Not much room to shuffle hence the false alarm over lack of movement. Not long now PHEW
I'm babysitting, OH is off to hospital for a check-up, reduced movement. Quite usual apparently, but I'm starting to worry, hope she is OK.

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

In walks Son2, straight to my guitar. Strumming away, his face lights up. Worried the metal strings might ping, I just bought him a Ukulele!

Monday, July 06, 2009

Discussing Our Songs with OH, when we first dated http://blip.fm/~9h7n8 then it was http://blip.fm/~9h7k9 now it is http://blip.fm/~9h78a :)
Swine Flu worry again. Newborns are high risk for complications, luck if he avoids it. GPs advise not to come in with SF. So what do you do?

Sunday, July 05, 2009

Watching Bronson. Brilliant. Real parallels with A Clockwork Orange (movie). Backdrop of bleak 70's & 80's Britain. Stirring classical music
But it all looks so delicious http://ping.fm/z3bdj
Celebrating in-laws return with a bbq, hope the weather holds out.
Watching "Religulous", I am giggling all the way through it. Just brilliant. Watch it.

Saturday, July 04, 2009

Oi, youth! Pull your trousers up and less of the attitude. Start earning some more money to pay our national debt.
Went to see Ice Age 3, it was good fun, Son1 & 2 loved it. Entered cinema in glorious sunshine, came out to cold rain and wind :( actually forget that... :)

Friday, July 03, 2009

My in-laws are back from their grand voyage around Europe. They were greatly missed, especially by the grandchildren. Welcome Back!

Thursday, July 02, 2009

Just saw my claymation introduce Family Guy on BBC3. Cool, I should tune in more often. I guess they use it all the time? Bored of it yet?
Just watched Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. IMDB rating 6.8. That is 7.8 more than I would give it. Thus ends sh*t film night.

Wednesday, July 01, 2009

Just watched "Bride Wars". IMDB rate it as 4.9 out of 10, which, in my opinion, is 4.9 too many. Now watching "HOME" in HD oooooh.

Other half woke up at 3:30am & couldnt get back to sleep. Trying to think of activity to get kids & me out of the house.

Friday, June 26, 2009

BBC News "World Mourns Pop Legend Jackson" Again the hysterical minority, over-represented by media, isolate the emotionally stable majority
Poor OH, she is doing such a great job but it is really difficult managing 2 kids and a big bump. I shouldn't moan about my workload.
5th wedding anniversary today. Although I didn't know that when I woke up. Luckily OH forgot too, so a quick run to shop fixed everything!

Thursday, June 25, 2009

So, Michael Jackson is dead. Just watched "Knowing" & "Fanboys", both quite good. Right, off to bed.
Can't wait for Kaossilator to arrive. Although I won't have a chance to play until tonight. Too much work. OH is doing fine, any day now! XD

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Pub quiz result. Team "knackered dads" result fifth out of 5 teams. No prize. Only 4 bottles of wine this week. Not even a win by default.
Ordered Korg Kaossilator. 1 step closer to my dream; teaming up with Darren on Ukulele to tap into the George Formby/Folk/Electronica market
At son1's school for his final pre-start visit. I'm quite nervous for some reason. He's fine. Loves it. Would probably live here if he could

Monday, June 22, 2009

Realised, I'm only happy if I am busy. Which might explain the 2.9 kids. Everything is hitting me at once currently. Early to bed all week.

Saturday, June 20, 2009

At a bbq/house warming/birthday party thing. Under tumulous skies. Being attacked by kids on a bouncy castle. Great fun. Pretty tired.

Friday, June 19, 2009

Sitting in a Valletta in cafe. Day 2 of business trip. Heading to airport 4 home soon. Uncomfortably hot. Putting world to rights with Andy.
Bored business travellers. After a morning shower write message of doom on foggy mirror with hair gel. Reappears for next guest!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Stepping off the plane in Malta, the air hits you like a hot towel (not that you would ever see one of those on a easyjet flight)
Everytime I fly (sl) Easyjet I regret it. Malta flight waiting at gate because they failed to organise a tug to push the plane out. Idiots!!
In taxi to airport. Visiting Malta on business. Back tomorrow. I always get nerves but this time I'm more worried about baby coming early :(

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

On the park&ride bus into town with the Family. Lunch & window shopping, maybe even real shopping for a KORG Kaossilator
I love Kids by MGMT. But as a father the music video is so abhorrent to me. I hope this was green screened http://ping.fm/hVAEx

Friday, June 12, 2009

"OH" sent me on ANOTHER ice cream run ;)
Hard week. I love to be busy, can't stand being bored (I, like nature, abhor a vacuum). Anyway TGIF, almost said TFIF but no call for that.
Bought Penny her belated Birthday Present (number 2). I am not usually this bad, but this one took a lot of research. Finally got it :)

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Anyone know where I can get a Korg Kaossilator for a good price in the UK? (It is a birthday present to me)
My Bro-in-law got onto a fast track promotion program today! Well done mate! Hardest working guy I know.
Played Battleforge with Gary instead of watching England beat Andorra 6-0. So geeky I'm cool? I like to think so. In all honesty I forgot :(

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Always listen to hear the kids breathing before I can sleep. Son2 I can hear from the landing. Son1 is only audible 2" from his face. :)

Monday, June 08, 2009

Hey you scientist types! Stop curing diseases & cloning sheep, just answer me this; Why does hot orange squash make you cough?

In pain again from my manliness training at Darren's house. Weight lifting, Beer & UFC. In pain again. Starting to see a difference already!

Come on, it's Friday, time to play the dubious "Pick the Perp" http://picktheperp.com/

This is by far the most comprehensive & detailed map tracking the Swine Flu outbreak http://ping.fm/C3Q1j
British chief medical adviser on swine flu "most of those affected will recover", well, thanks for that, very reassuring :(
Done something uncharacteristically paranoid tonight. Trust me, I'm the head of the herd of sheep-like behaviour we'll see tomorrow. Watch.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

WHO raise the Swine Flu alert to a level 5 (out of 6). Not feeling so silly about the mask purchase now. Worried for my family :(

In hospital now
Cancelled my meetings to take pregnant wife to doctor. Severe back ache, hope it isn't kidney trouble or worse - labour!

Monday, April 27, 2009

I hope I'll laugh at this move in the future, but the 1st thing that ran out with SARS was FFP3 masks. Swine flu is worse so I ordered some.
Sat here worrying about Swine Flu and watching "The Fog", a really brilliant horror film.
OMG! The best (most geeky?) thing I have found on t'internet Ghost Cloud Computing http://ping.fm/fvUAF check it
Monday morning and, for a change, it is peeing down outside after a lovely weekend. Kids are all happy. Son2 wasn't sleeping last night :(

Sunday, April 26, 2009

I've watched 5 minutes of "My Life as an Animal" it is so stupid and faux intellectual, I feel annoyed at my wasted license fee. Off to bed.
Got a lot done in the garden today. Weather fantastic. Cleared loads of junk over to the dump (very cathartic). Laid a path with John.
Son1 commented on my weight. Pointing out I was big. Not being negative, in fact looking forward to being as big as me. Made me feel sad.
Walked down to breakfast this morning, the boys sitting quietly, Penny baking lemon cookies. She is a super mum. Amazing.

Being a good father is pretending to be excited about being asked to read the same bedtime story every night for a week #dadtip

Throw out all cleaning products, baby wipes replace them all, they could probably clean the inside of a nuclear reactor. #dadtip
You can gauge the age of fellow parent's children by the height of the snot marks smeared on trousers and skirts. #dadtip
Wow, the world's smallest aeroplanes - astounding http://ping.fm/xW74X
First we are told that our kitchen surfaces host more bacteria than a toilet seat, now we should worry about FLYING GERMS. A culture of fear
